PASTORAL ACTIVITIES
OF BISHOP DENIS ISIZOH

THROUGH A CAMERA LENS
NZAM, St Mary's Parish
PASTORAL VISIT / CONFIRMATION
Saturday, 2 April 2022
Picture
We hurried over our breakfast. Soon we were on our way to Nzam for a Pastoral Visit.  The journey from Aguleri was not so smooth. It rained in the previous night. In spite of the not-so-smooth a road, we reached the parish some minutes before 11.00am - the time scheduled for the Mass.  I was delighted to see that they had roofed the new Church. Thanks to Bonaventure Enemali. We are looking forward to the dedication
Canopies were set up in the field beside the Church. Holy Mass in the field. After the Mass, reception immediately followed. I inspected the parish books. I had lunch with the priests present. It was beautiful to interact with the Priests working in Olumbanasaa and Anam.
On my way home, I stopped by to visit the home of Chief Benajamin Ekwealor, veteran principal, distinguished Catholic, the oldest man in his town, to pay him a courtesy visit. Father Hilary Anisiobi spoke very well about Ekwealor's contributions to the spread of the Gospel in Olumbanasaa. It was a spirit--filled moment with him. He told me about his fidelity to the Catholic faith. He even registered a message to Fr Anisiobi and Cardinal Arinze confirming his strong Catholic faith. The parish priest, Fr John Paul Onuselogu, assured him that he would be visiting regularly to bring him the Holy Communion. From Ekwealor's house, I bid farewell to Nzam.
On my way from Nzam, I visited Fr Peter Okoli, parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes, Nmiata Anam. He showed me round to see the school project and the state of the Church project.
Finally, I returned safely to Aguleri late in the evening. To God's glory,  I accomplished all the tasks I set to accomplish today. “Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam”
