At 9.45am, I was at St William's Church, Nkwelle Ezunaka, for the Golden Jubilee of Priestly Ordination of Monsignor Benedict Ifeanyichukwu, Obidiegwu. Mons. Obidiegwu studied at Ss Peter and Paul Major Seminary Bodija during the Nigerian civil war. He was ordained Priest in 1971 for the Catholic diocese of Jos. I met Mons. Obidiegwu first time when he came home for his First Mass in Nkwelle Ezunaka. I was that time in Class One in All Hallows Seminary.  How time flies! It teaches us how small we are in the grandiose design of the Lord for the work of evangelization. I am really a small dot!
          As of today, Mons Benedict is the oldest priest alive by age and ordination in the archdiocese of Jos, He has been a formator in many educational institutions. He has held several administrative positions in the diocese. He knows no ethnic boundaries. His humility, selflessness and pastoral love are very attractive qualities.
          Before the end of Mass, the People of God rose up to sing: I bu Ukochukwu ebebe n'usoro nke Melchizedek. Congratulations, bravo to you, hip hip hip, congratulations to you. Reception by St William's Parish community followed.
