At 10.00am, I was at St Peter and Paul's Church, Umueri. This is an out-station of Our Lady of Victory Umueri.  In the course of the year, I learnt that many people gathered several times in a month for prayer and Mass in a small Church near the General Hospital Umueri. One day I went over there to see things for myself. I saw Fr Thaddeus Ngwoke celebrating Mass for a prayer group. I entered the Church and greeted the People of God. I did not stay long, but that short meeting assured me that we could one day have this small community as a Parish. I made up my mind to pay a pastoral visit to the little community. I made my decision known to the parish priest, Fr Augustine Okonkwo. He was very delighted. I realised he had been trying to build up the place as an out-station to his parish. Quickly he improved the Church building and got somebody to build a chapel of adoration.
          I was pleasantly surprised to find a large congregation for Mass today. This was the second time I was going on a Pastoral visit to an out-station instead of the Mother-parish. We began with the blessing of the Church. I am happy that over eighty persons received the Sacrament of Confirmation. I blessed the chapel of adoration. Grand welcome in my honour. Several members of Jesu Obataobie Prayer Ministry were present. May the seeds of faith we have sown in this station germinate, grow and blossom within a short time.  Et sit splendor Domini Dei nostri super nos, et opera manuum nostrarum dirige super nos, et opus manuum nostrarum dirige.
